Gusty winds to start off the week

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - Get ready for a windy day ahead. A Wind and Blowing Dust Advisory is in effect until 8 p.m. tonight for southwest Ariz. and southeast Calif. for possible gusts 40 MPH and it's possible some area wind gusts could peak up to 50 MPH.

Stronger winds will start to develop early this morning with wind speeds of 20 to 30 MPH with some areas with possible gusts up to 40 MPH or higher.

With the windy conditions, we can expect to see hazy skies for today. Despite the wind for today temperatures will be close to normal as we will be in the lower 80s and our average is 82 degrees.

Winds will continue through the afternoon and early in the evening so make sure to take extra precautions today. We can expect to see blowing dust and sand which can suddenly drop visibility especially while driving. Calmer and warmer conditions are expected tomorrow with major warming by the middle of the week.
