News 11 Weather Authority: The cool before the warm

March 11th, 2022

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A day after the latest weather system brought hefty winds, the cold pocket of air behind it continues to linger.

Daytime highs on this Friday only reached the low 70s, almost 10 degrees lower than the normal temperatures for this time of year.

Weak high pressure from the West is making a steady build, which will translate in a significant temperature rise for this weekend alone.

The mercury should continue to rise next week, with daytime highs potentially reaching the 90 degree mark.
