News 11 Weather Authority: Wind and blowing dust return

March 10th, 2022

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The latest cool-down weather source has made it's imprint on the Desert Southwest.

An upper level system from the Pacific Northwest has brought cooler air, hefty winds and even some light rain in part of our area.

The National Weather Service had issued a Wind Advisory and Blowing Dust Advisory in parts of both Yuma and Imperial Counties, with an Air Quality Alert in Yuma County.

We've had wind gusts top off anywhere from 33 to 44 miles per hour area-wide.

As the system departs, expect one more day of cool feelings before warmer changes emerge for the long haul.
