YUMA, Ariz., (KYMA, KECY) - A strengthening ridge of high pressure from the West is bringing much higher heat to the West.
Although we're not talking about record breaking heat here at home, our latest surge will only get us several degrees above normal for this time of year.
That is enough for the National Weather Service to have far Western Imperial County under an Excessive Heat Warning until Friday.
The inverted low South of our area will help bring some wind and possibly some minimal moisture for the rest of the week, before our temps take a slight dip by the start of next week.
