News 11 Weather Authority: Heat turning excessive
June 3rd, 2021
YUMA, Ariz., (KYMA, KECY) - The current high pressure ridge sitting in the West continues to keep our temperatures elevated slightly to well above normal.
The current cycle of heat has prompted the National Weather Service to enact an Excessive Heat Warning for Western Imperial County through 10 pm on Friday night.
At most, our daytime high temps could raise up between 107 to 112 degrees; mainly in the mentioned Excessive Heat Warning zone.
Once we reach the end of the coming weekend, we could feel our mercury drop to near normal levels.
A low pressure disturbance that is projected to come from the Pacific will be the catalyst to the coming minor weather change.
