Children lost caregivers during COVID pandemic

(KYMA,KECY/CNN) - An estimated 10-point-5-million children lost a caregiver because of the covid-19 pandemic.

Research published in the medical journal found that majority of the children were orphaned --- while 3 million lost their primary caregiver.

The medical journal studied data from the world health organization.

Most of the children impacted live in africa and southeast asia.

A study from the American academy of pediatrics found children of color accounted for 65-percent of children orphaned by covid-19.
