Wildcats softball eliminated

Brawley's run ends in semifinals

SAN MARCOS, Calif., (KYMA, KECY) - The Brawley Wildcats know a thing or two about adversity.

They overcame trailing in the Imperial Valley League standings to take 1st place in the standing by the end of the regular season.

The Cats also responded to their previous CIF-San Diego Section Division 1 loss to 2nd seeded San Marcos by a gritty come from behind win over Ramona to clinch a spot in the semifinal round.

Having a quick turnaround and playing their last home game in the excessive heat didn't do the Cats any favors in their playoff rematch with San Marcos.

The well rested Lady Knights proved to be too much for the Cats, as Brawley suffered the 11-0 loss to end it's Spring season campaign.

The Cats finish with an impressive 19-8 overall record, a 12-2 IVL finish, and a 3-2 Division 1 Playoff record.
