Girls soccer playoff showdown

Imperial rallies to eliminate Brawley from the Division 4 quarterfinals

IMPERIAL, Calif., (KYMA, KECY) - 2 Imperial Valley League girls soccer powers squared off in the quarterfinal round of the CIF-San Diego Section Division Playoffs on Friday night.

Fresh off it's 1st round playoff win, the Brawley Wildcats would pay a visit to Shimamoto-Simpson Stadium to take on the Imperial Tigers.

The Cats continued to feed off of the momentum from the previous round, when they took a 1-nil lead that would last into the 2nd half.

The Tigers offense would begin to gain more traction in the 2nd half, as Imperial would apply more pressure on the Wildcats defense.

The Tigers would rally the rest of the way, with 2 late game goals to come away with the 2-1 victory.

Imperial advances to the Division 4 Semifinals.
