San Diego’s Comic-Con is underway

News 11's Chennell Ramos attended the first day of the 2023 San Diego Comic-Con

SAN DIEGO (KYMA, KECY) - The annual event takes place over four days.

The convention doors opened Thursday morning with thousands of fans dressed up for the experience.

Costumes galore were present throughout the convention center hall.

The main floor featured hundreds of displays, vendors, and live demos from everyone in the comic world.

Huge names like Nickelodeon, Crunchy Roll, and Marvel, just to name a few.

One of the big things of course is the cosplay.

Edin Nino traveled 15 hours from Israel for her first comic-con experience this year.

Her friend told her it would be worth the trip. Nino's cosplay choice, she said, "I love Tim Burton and I needed to do a homage for him."

Another fan has been attending Comic-Con for years and now makes it a family affair.

Kelly Kennedy dressed up as, “So I’m the mystery machine from Scooby Doo. That can’t solve anything, can't solve the mystery without the machine. So I'm very important. It’s something we always do every year with my cousin and I love coming every year, it's so exciting. I love the vibe."

San Diego's Comic-Con will run until Sunday.
