Yuma police officers respond to traffic incident
UPDATE (10 P.M.) - According to the Yuma Police Department, the incident happened around 3 p.m. on Wednesday at Avenue A and 9th Street.
The bicyclist was taken by the Yuma Fire Department to Yuma Regional Medical Center for serious but non-life-threatening injuries and no other injuries were reported.
Yuma police said speed and alcohol were not considered a factor in the crash.
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma police are at the scene of what appears to be a crash involving a vehicle and a bicyclist.
We have reached out to police for confirmation.
But what we know so far is Avenue A from 8th to 10th Street is blocked off.
Traffic is being re-routed.
Several Yuma police units including the traffic division is in the area.
One local who works nearby said this area is very busy.
“I see a lot of pedestrians walking you but I don't really see much accidents, so far since I been here only one actual accident but it was nothing too bad," stated Av Tapia, who works nearby the crash scene.
We are waiting to hear back from the Yuma Police Department to find out if there were any injuries.
