More protests rise after another deadly Russian. attack, G7 leaders to gather in emergency meeting
(KYMA, KECY/ NBC News) - Thousands of U.S. protesters took to the streets after Russia unleashed a barrage of missiles on several Ukrainian cities on Monday.
They chanted and held signs in protest of the latest attacks on Ukraine - many urging the government to sell more weapons to Ukraine and declare Russia a "terrorist state".
The demonstrations followed a new round of missile and drone strikes by the Russian military that killed at least 12Â people and injured dozens more.
According to officials, all those injured or killed during the bombings are believed to be civilians.
Russian President Vladimir Putin acknowledged the attacks, saying that Russia targeted only energy infrastructure and it was retaliation for an apparent attack on a key bridge over the weekend.
Ukraine has not claimed responsibility for that attack.
Tuesday morning, President Biden and G7 leaders will have an emergency virtual meeting to discuss Russia's ongoing war against Ukraine and what the country is asking for.
