Russia buying millions of rockets from North Korea for Ukraine war
(KYMA, KECY/ NBC News) - According to a Senior U.S. Defense official, Russia is in the process of buying millions of rockets and artillery shells from North Korea for use in Ukraine.
The official also said the action is clearly an indication that western sanctions are severely affecting Moscow's military supply effort.
The report provided very few details about the exact weaponry, timing or size of the shipment.
However, U.S. officials said Russia was expected to try to purchase additional North Korean equipment going forward. This as the country is also leaning on Iran for military supplies - last month receiving shipments of Iranian-produced drones.
According to American officials, some of those drones had mechanical problems.
