Fire from duplex extinguished in Yuma

City of Yuma Fire Department

The flame's origins were found to have come from a laundry room

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The City of Yuma Fire Department says it extinguished a fire in a duplex on April 12.

At about 11:24 a.m., crews were told of a smoke coming from a home on East 24th Place, although two adults and two dogs were able to escape safely.

The fire was in the laundry room and did not reach the attic or the other side of the duplex.

Firefighters were able to quickly take out the fire and discovered its origins in the laundry room's ceiling fan.
