Dog owners come together for competition at Yuma County Fairgrounds

Featuring just about every dog breed, brought together by local kennel clubs - 13 On Your Side's Luis Lopez reporting

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Dog lovers throughout the Desert Southwest came together over the weekend. Sunday marked day three of dog shows for both the Yuma and Imperial Valley Kennel Clubs.

This event took place at the Yuma County Fairgrounds. Competitions for dog breeds of all kinds were held.

The clubs shows are held yearly, and according to Imperial Valley Kennel Club Chair Member Mike Birk, it brings in money for several animal-related causes.

“We give donations to the Humane Society we sponsor scholarships for students that are pursuing a career in an animal-related career field, and Yuma I’m sure does the same thing,” Birk said.

The show will continue until Monday, December 6.
