Agents rescued 25 individuals but said there's 5 more missing

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents rescued 25 undocumented immigrants lost or in distress last weekend.

U.S. Border Patrol says agents received a 911 call last Friday regarding three people who needed help in the desert. Agents said they found them approximately 35 miles southeast of Tacna, Ariz. One of the men, a 23-year-old from Mexico, needed medical attention. As for the other 31-year-old man from Honduras, he was in good health. Paramedics took the 23-year-old to a Phoenix hospital.

Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents rescued several migrants who found themselves lost in the Sonoran Desert and out of water over the weekend.

Hours later, agents spotted a fire five miles from the location. The other two men were previously discovered and found a third person. The 22-year-old man from Honduras was treated for dehydration and transported to the hospital for treatment.

Last Saturday morning, agents found two individuals from the same group near the border. One of the men was the individual that made the 911 call from the day before. Both men from Mexico were in good health and taken to the station for processing.

That afternoon deputies notified agents of a 911 call they received regarding four people in distress approximately 20 miles from Dateland. Agents say they found three members of the group and provided them with water. However, they failed to find the fourth one.

Last Sunday, agents received another 911 call regarding two lost individuals in the desert and distress. They were found shortly after conscious but dehydrated.

Agents said there are still five individuals who have not been located.
