CBP in Michigan finds human brain in jar
PORT HURON, Mich. (KYMA, KECY)- Officers working at the Port Huron in Mich., seized a mason jar containing a human brain specimen.
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection say a Canadian mail truck with a shipment manifested as an "Antique Teaching Specimens" traveling to Mich., was sent to secondary for further inspection.
According to CBP, once agents opened the shipment, they found a package that contained human brain specimens inside a mason jar without any proper paperwork or documentation to support its lawful entry into the U.S.
“Individuals looking to import shipments such as this, need to remember that the Center for Disease Control and Prevention has a strict Import Permit Program that must be adhered to,” said Area Port Director Michael Fox. “This is just another great example of just one of the many things CBP officers do to protect our nation on a daily basis.”
