Yuma County looking to make the permit process more effective

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma County is now working with the City of Yuma to create a more effective and efficient way in how community members can go though the permit review process.

Craig Sellers, Director Of Development Services For Yuma County says there's already some areas where the county says it can improve on.

"And so we are looking at our flexibility, our efficiencies and our communications with our applicants and builders in the area," Sellers explained.

The County processes permits anywhere from a couple of minutes to up to 60 days. Sellers are sharing what they hope to accomplish with speeding up the process, adding they also need the community's input to make the process better.

"To reach out and listen to the community and hear their feedback and also provide education to them of what we provide and then finally to keep reviewing our processes," Sellers shared.
