Kabat’s Fortuna Ace Hardware hosts Flavor Fest
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - As Saturday marks day two of the Independence Day weekend, a local store in Yuma hosted Flavor Fest.
The event took place at Kabat's Fortuna Ace Hardware 11:00am Saturday morning, and ran until 2:00pm. Customers were shown different sauces and grills they offer in their store and food was also provided.
While this was Kabat's third year hosting Flavor Fest, this was Ace Hardware's first time hosting the event. The lead assistant manager of Kabat's, Grant Limmons, says there's a reason for this event.
"To get customers outside, get them grilling. Get them making different things for their families. Get them all to be together. Be outside and enjoy time with each other," Limmons spoke.
The food grilled by Kabat's employees included bacon, kielbasa, meatballs and more. Sauces included were ketchup, sweet and sour barbecue sauces, and hot sauce.
In addition, there were giveaways the store provided to those who stopped by. These included a lanyard, a license plate holder, sunglasses, a coloring page and a step-by-step guide for how to make ultimate griddle smashed burgers.
Limmons said that the store plans to host flavor fest for every Independence Day weekend going forward.
