YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma's BSA Scouting Unites will host the 2022 Colorado River Canoe Run at West Wetlands Park.

Starting October 14 through the 16, this is in collaboration with the Grand Canyon Council's Gila River District.

For further context, the event has attracted over 400 Scouts and leaders from across Arizona and California to participate in the weekend-long adventure.

Additionally, the activities for the event include camping, Scout skill activities, canoeing down the Colorado River, and other fun activities.

“Gila River District is proud to have this event in Yuma again,” said Kathy Polowski, Gila River District’s Activities Chairman.

Not only that, "This is the largest Scouting event in our District and one of the largest in Southern Arizona.  West Wetlands Park is the perfect spot for everyone to come together. We are tremendously thankful for the dedication of local Scout Leaders, and the collaboration and generosity the City of Yuma’s Parks and Recreation Department and local businesses have shown in support of this event.”
