Park Manager Tammy Snook is inviting everyone to a Chalk’ing good time

Colorado River State Historic Park host first-ever Sidewalk Chalk Contest

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - For many of us chalk was part of our daily life, at one time or another our names made their way to a corner of a teacher's chalkboard.

As children, chalk was a gateway into a world of limitless imagination. Well, the staff at the Colorado River State Historic Park has your child's ticket to that very world.

On Saturday, January 15, families are invited to take part in a very unique contest. And, all you need is a box of chalk and your imagination.

Now, the box of chalk has been donated by the good folks at Ram Pest Management. So, all you'll need is your imagination.

Park Manager Tammy Snook says that the chalk contest is intended to introduce residents to the historic park. Later, that morning the City of Yuma will host its Art in the Park event at Gateway Park.

Both events are set to inspire and showcase local artists.
