California Mid-Winter Fair and Fiesta hosted at Imperial Valley Fairgrounds
News 11's Vanessa Gongora had the opportunity to attend the fair's opening day and talk with vendors.
IMPERIAL, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The California-Mid Winter Fair is back up and running after the ever-changing pandemic.
The 114th annual fair is going to be a little different this year. The majority of indoor buildings and exhibits will be closed. They have decided to have a completely outdoor fair due to precautions surrounding COVID-19.
The fair opens on March 4 and will run through March 13th. Opening hours do vary, though the fair opens today at 3 p.m.
This weekend the fair will open at 12:00 p.m. March 7th and 11th will open at 5:00 p.m and March 12th and 13th will open at 12:00 p.m. Gates close at 10:00 p.m. everyday.
There will be many rides and live entertainment such as a hypnotist, magician, stilt circus as well as musicians and bands will be performing throughout the week.
Some of the rides that will be in action are the Zipper, the fun slide and a haunted mansion.
Tickets for adults are $8. Children and senior tickets are $6.
Carnival wristbands will be $40.
No proof of vaccination will be required to enter the fair.
