Brawley police increase presence for possible school threat
BRAWLEY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The Brawley Police Department increased their police presence due to a possible school threat made on social media.
Brawley police say one of the threats advised students from Brawley Union High School to not attend school and to hug their loved ones for the last time.Â
Police says they are fully aware of the school shooting threats and are working to keep all schools safe.
"Our plan is to provide presences...uniform presences...we also have additional officers deployed with a canine dog that is capable of sniffing firearms and we are trying our best to locate the root of the posting," said Commander John Tang with BPD.
Brawley police say they are currently investigating the threats and would like to encourage anyone with additional information to contact them.
