43 more charges filed against accused Boulder shooter

Suspect now faces more than 50 felony charges in connection with deadly grocery store rampace

BOULDER, Colo. (KYMA, KECY) - Prosecutors Thursday filed more than 40 additional charges against the man accused of opening fire on a Boulder, Colorado grocery store killing 10 people.

Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa previously faced 10 counts of first-degree murder, and one of first-degree attempted murder. Alissa now faces another 32 counts of attempted murder, one of first degree assault, and ten counts connected to the size of the magazine he's accused of using during the shooting.

Prosecutors say Alissa opened fire on the King Sooper grocery story in Boulder on March 22. Investigators still haven't uncovered a motive. They say he did buy the assault rifle used in the attack legally. His criminal record includes only one third-degree assault charge from 2017.
