YUMA, Ariz. ( KYMA, KECY)- As the pandemic continues to impact cities around the world certain crimes in Yuma County have slightly increased while others decreased.

The Yuma Police Department ( YPD) says domestic violence calls have slightly increased.

According to authorities this has to do with quarantine and being at home since the stay-at-home orders began over two months ago.

“With people being laid off and not having a job, money could be a huge, and its something that could cause more domestic," said Sgt. Lori Franklin, with The Yuma Police Department.
