YUMA, Ariz. ( KYMA, KECY) - It's been three weeks since the Arizona Governor Doug Ducey lifted the stay-at-home orders.

However, COVID-19 cases continue on the rise.

South Yuma County is seeing a huge spike in cases making up roughly 50 percent of the cases.

According to NBC, While Ducey has insisted this “is not a crisis situation” and suggested the rise in the number of cases is due to an increase in testing, critics say otherwise and accuse the Republican governor of setting a bad example by not wearing a mask while out in public.

Tune in to News 11 at. 5 p.m. as Carmen Valencia speaks to the Yuma County Board of Supervisors Chairman Tony Reyes about the cases and the unique challenges border communities continue to face during this pandemic.
