San Francisco’s Bay area experience triple digit temperatures
BRENTWOOD, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - The heat is on in inland portions of the San Francisco Bay area, where triple digit temperatures are being reported. Bay area residents share how they're dealing with the heat.
In Brentwood, a trip to the pool was one way to cool off, and people who came to the poll had plenty of company and a strategy.
"If there is shade, we will find it. I brought portable chairs," said one Brentwood resident.
Another Brentwood resident shared her secret to deal with the heat, "Apply sunscreen every two hours and keep yourself hydrated."
Livermore
In Livermore, MJ Moreno at Miel De Agave Azul Restaurant downtown says they are ready for the hot temperatures.
"That's the biggest thing we do is the outdoor fans with the misters and we try to keep them as comfortable as they can be," Moreno spoke.
Emma Jones was downtown, but not for long.
"[This] afternoon, we will be inside with air conditioning on," Jones explained.
Power outage
Across town, just under 2,000 customers in one Livermore neighborhood lost power for a few hours Sunday morning. Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) told them it would be back on before noon.
"It's going to be tough to stay cool. We have all the shades shut right now. If the power doesn't come back on, we try not to open up the fridge," said one Livermore resident.
Meanwhile, Walnut Creek experienced hot temperatures as well. People wore hats, shorts and made the best of it.
"Gotta get some food, headed back in the AC," said a Walnut Creek resident.
