California to move to second phase of re-opening plan
Some businesses to open as soon as Friday
YUBA, CITY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - California Governor Gavin Newsom says the state will move into the second phase of his re-opening plan as early as Friday. This means lower-risk workplaces can resume operations provided they modify practices to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Gov. Newsom outlined a plan Monday afternoon that includes re-opening a range of retailers, including clothing and sporting good stores, and florists. The plan did not include dine-in restaurants, or offices. Newsom included both in previously outlined strategies.
The governor says testing and tracking remain the key considerations in his re-opening plans. Newsom wants more Californians tested before relaxing more restrictions. He also wants to see better contact tracing of coronavirus infections.
