Biden to address workforce shortages in trucking industry

New program to help address rising prices

PHOENIX, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Biden administration announced it will soon address workforce shortages for truckers, following Senator Mark Kelly's (D-AZ) recent call for Biden to create an outline.

“From the spike in the cost of groceries to the limited options on store shelves, it’s clear that red tape and workforce shortages in the trucking industry are hurting families in Arizona and across the country," began Sen. Kelly.

Food prices have been increasing and one reason has been due to employee shortages not delivering to stores and warehouses.

"It’s why I have pushed the Biden administration to fully and quickly use all of the new authorities provided in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to alleviate bottlenecks in our supply chain, and I will continue to ensure they use every tool at their disposal to lower costs for Arizona families,” stated Sen. Kelly.

The Biden administration will follow some ideas from Sen. Kelly including the expansion of the Registered Apprenticeship program.
