UNITED NATIONS (AP) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu signaled to the world from the United Nations that the multiple conflicts in the Middle East were far from resolved. He vowed to continue to battle the Lebanese Hezbollah and defeat Hamas in the Gaza Strip until “total victory.” Shortly after he spoke, blasts rocked the Lebanese capital Beirut and the Israeli military said it had struck Hezbollah’s headquarters. Netanyahu was armed with visual aids as he has been in the past. He defended his nation’s response to the Oct. 7, 2023, attacks by Hamas on Israel that triggered a war that has devastated the Gaza Strip.
