City of Somerton hosts Fourth of July Retro Celebration

SOMERTON, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The City of Somerton hosted the Fourth of July Retro Celebration event Saturday.

According to the City of Somerton, the event is for residents to come out and "immerse themselves in a vibrant atmosphere, filled with joy and patriot spirit."

The celebration took place at Council Avenue Park at 6:00pm, and ran until midnight.

There were food and drink vendors, a playground for kids to play in, and there was live music from Grupo Alazan, a Queen tribute band called The Kings of Queen, and Ronda Machetera.

In addition, there was a fireworks display for attendees to see.

Telemundo anchor Oswaldo Rivas co-hosted the event.
