AWC San Luis campus opens a new lab
SAN LUIS, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Arizona Western College (AWC) students from San Luis won't have to transfer to Yuma for their science classes anymore.
The Matadors held a grand opening this morning for their new science lab at the San Luis campus.
The new facility will provide classes on computer informatics and biology.
The cost of the state-of-the-art building is over $2 million.
"So, we're going to be able to have CNA courses in the lab but also the whole range of biology courses. This was a need that was expressed for quite some time. Our students previously would have to go to Yuma for their classes now they're available here in San Luis and we just thrill," stated AWC President Daniel Corr.
More than 100 AWC students will use the new lab every school year.
