Imperial County Public Health Department says pandemic is not over
Numbers continue on a downward trend - News 11's Wiley Jawhary reports
EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Springtime comes with schools out for a break and more gatherings, the Imperial County Public Health Department says numbers have gone up and down but are still on the low side.
The Imperial County Public Health Department (ICPHD) mentions numbers have been fluctuating over the last few weeks. Janette Angulo with the ICPHD says community transmission is low.
"The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 has ranged from two and four patients in the last seven days," she explained.
While all is pointing in the right direction, Angulo says we are not out of the woods just yet.
"The pandemic is still here although our case rate continues to decrease, we are still staying vigilant, as we have seen throughout this pandemic there are variants," she said.
