Weekly unemployment claims lowest in 52 years
(KYMA, KECY/ CNN) - New unemployment data shows the labor shortage isn't likely to end any time soon, as the four week moving average of unemployment benefits is just under 200,000.
That turns out to be the lowest it's been since 1969.
Some economists warn the number may be slightly skewed because of the holidays and also the Omicron spike hasn't shown up in jobs data yet.
Still, the numbers indicate a strong demand for labor and not enough of it.
