Biden administration announces new methane regulations
(KYMA, KECY/ NBC News) - The Biden administration announces that they are launching a plan to reduce methane emissions.
The proposal was announced Tuesday and includes some of the nation's strongest regulations against emissions from oil and gas drilling.
The new rules target methane leaks and instances when methane gas is purposefully vented, or flared, during the production process.
Tuesday's announcement is all part of a broader push to tackle climate change that White House officials are unveiling at the United Nations Climate Change Conference.
