Agent dedicates more than three decades to law enforcement

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Retired Border Patrol Juan Garcia passed away over the weekend due to COVID-19 complications and his family is currently mourning.

Garcia served the El Centro and Yuma sector areas for over 20 years and also served 10 more years at previous law enforcement agencies.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, and two sons.

"Agent Juan Garcia was a strong, quiet man who would sacrifice his life for his fellow agents and citizens at a moment's notice and without hesitation," began a Border Patrol statement. "He served his country and community by taking on the sometimes thankless job of protecting the U.S. border."
