America’s top cops need back-up
The Federal Bureau of Investigation joins law enforcement across the country for National Crime Victim's Rights Week
PHOENIX, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The men and women that bear the badge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation are of the highest caliber. Their dedication and committment to the American way of life defines each and everyone of them.
The weight of the nations falls on their shoulder and because of it they are bestowed the highest of honors. But, with those accolades comes a great responsibilty.
FBI agents hunt down the most vile of criminals. Seeing things that most people shouldn't see and moving forward without pause.
During a special presentation FBI Victim Services Division, Assistant Director Kathryn Turman spoke about what happens after the arrest. Her job is to help victims find some normalcy or at the very least some peace.
One example of her unit's efforts is when they come into contact with victims of the sex trade. Many of those forced into the trade are branded with tattoos or much worse, they then help them by getting those brands removed.
April 18-24, is National Crime Victim's Rights Week. A time when law enforcement reaches out to victims to show then that there's a way out and to the public, asking them to back them up.
Turman simply asks that if you see something suspicious to report it, The FBI offers resources for those willing to step in and save a life.
