Local bar owner discusses Gov. Ducey’s executive order extension
YUMA, Ariz. ( KYMA, KECY) - Arizona Governor Doug Ducey announced on Thursday that he would extend his executive order once again for two weeks as COVID-19 cases continue to spike state-wide.
After the two-week period the Governor's office will decide on whether or not to lift or extend the closure.
One local bar, Double D's Sports Bar, has agreed to speak with News 11's Carmen Valencia about their concerns and frustrations about the executive orders. The owner of the bar has been vocal on social media platforms like Facebook.
In one of her posts, he said quote, "Well..our governor has extended the shut down for the bar. Restaurant bars ok but making bars a dine-in facility in order to reopen the first time with food is not now....hmmmmmm. Well Governor Ducey, when is that relief coming in that bars have to apply for? Let's apply for more unemployment.. wait... you shut us down. shouldn't you apply for us since the shut down is out of our control and in YOUR HANDS!"
