Californians heading to Arizona to cool off
Arizona communities seeing an influx of California tourists
FISHER'S LANDING, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - All along the West Coast, beaches and recreational areas are closed due to Gov. Gavin Newsom's policies amid the coronavirus Pandemic.
As an effect, communities near Arizona waterways such as the Colorado River and Martinez Lake have seen an increase of tourists coming from California.
At Fisher's Landing, locals are increasingly noticing Golden Staters seeking refuge on the lower Colorado River.
For the most part those visiting the lake are practising social distancing and staying within their own groups.
