YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY)-Two cocaine smugglers were arrested last weekend at the immigration checkpoint near Quartzsite.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection says two women were sent to secondary inspection after a canine alerted to their vehicle, a 2005 Jeep SUV.

During the inspection, agents found both women with cocaine underneath their clothes, as well as their purse. CBP says the total weight of the packages was approximately 319 grams with an estimated street value of $8,900.

The 48-year-old driver and the 39-year-old passenger have an extensive criminal history for controlled substances and check fraud.

Both women were arrested on controlled substance charges, and the Jeep, drugs were seized.
