Arizona gyms to reopen, end of stay-at-home order announced
Stay At Home order expires May 15
PHOENIX, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - In his press conference Tuesday evening, Gov. Doug Ducey made the announcement Arizona gyms and pools may reopen as early as May 13.

Ducey said gyms and pools must implement public health protections as well as follow CDC guidelines.
- Pools, with physical distancing and enhanced sanitation - can reopen Wednesday, May 13
- Gyms & Fitness Providers, with physical distancing and enhanced sanitation - can reopen May 13
- Spas, with physical distancing and enhanced sanitation - can reopen Wednesday, May 13
In his presser, Ducey also made an announcement regarding major league sports. There will be a limited reopening with out spectators and fans, he announced.
Ducey reiterated Arizonans must follow health protocols. Arizonans should still physically distance themselves and vulnerable individuals should remain at home.
"Since the start of this pandemic, Arizona has taken a calm and steady approach to protecting health and slowing the spread of COVID-19,” said Governor Ducey.
“Today, our hospitals have capacity to provide care to those who need it; our businesses are implementing and adapting to new physical distancing measures; and data shows Arizona is headed in the right direction. It is time to move forward with the next steps of Arizona’s economic recovery."
