YRMC launches drive-thru Covid-19 testing tomorrow
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY)-As part of Governor Doug Ducey's Testing Blitz, the Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC) is having free drive-through testing for COVID-19 this Saturday, May 9, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
YRMC partners up with the Yuma County Health Department, Arizona Department of Health, and the City of Yuma to offer these resources to the community.
They will be having the drive-through testing at the parking lot of the Yuma Civic Center located at 1440 W. Desert Hills Drive.
Testing will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis to help people determine if they are infected with COVID-19.
Testing is for people ages 18 years and older who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or who may have been exposed to someone with the virus.
Participants do not need to be residents of Arizona to participate.
YRMC says there will be 300 tests available.
To maximize efficiency and infection control, testing will be available on both sides of each vehicle. People planning to attend are encouraged to ensure that each person in their vehicle is wearing a cloth mask.
People who are tested will be asked to self- quarantine for 7-14 days as they wait for test results.
YRMC will also perform additional testing next Saturday at the same hours.
