PHOENIX, (KYMA, ,KECY) - Governor Ducey and the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) honored Arizona’s 30 fallen State Troopers who died in the line of duty.

The yearly memorial was held today at the DPS headquarters, paying tribute to these officers’ lives.

“For decades, Arizona State Troopers have put their lives on the line to patrol our state and keep us safe,” said Governor Ducey. “Today, we honor those who gave their all in the line of duty. These Troopers were guardians, defenders of the rule of law and heroes. Our gratitude to them is unending, and their memory is never far from our hearts.

“To their families—the moms and dads, sisters and brothers, sons and daughters—we also recognize your sacrifice. We know the pain you felt is something that never fully goes away. All of you remain in Arizona’s thoughts and prayers today and every day, and we say thank you for all you have given to the state of Arizona.”
