IVC employee tests positive for COVID-19

IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY)-Imperial Valley College (IVC) confirms one employee has tested positive for the coronavirus.

IVC has been closed to the public and most of the students since March 16. Majority of the employees have been working from home since March 20.

Some employees were allowed to return to campus April 6, however, the employee who is impacted by COVID-19 is at home recovering and in isolation per Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines.

Due to federal health privacy laws, IVC does not release more information on the employee.

IVC continues to remain open remotely during normal business hours and Distance Education (online learning) is being offered to students at this time via phone, Zoom, and email.

The majority of the employees are working remotely unless otherwise notified.
