Virus infections surpass 1,000 in Baja California, deaths climb
MEXICALI, B.C. (KYMA, KECY)-Hundreds of people have been infected and deaths are reported daily due to COVID-19 in Mexicali.
According to health officials in Baja California, so far, 1,161 people have tested positive and continue to be quarantined. In Baja California, there are now 163 deaths in the state. In Mexicali, there 413 confirmed cases, and 39 deaths have been quantified in Mexicali.
The Secretary of Health Alonso Pérez Rico warned that the next 3 weeks will be crucial to flatten the curve of contagion that is on the rise.
He reiterated to the community to stay home and protect the most vulnerable population such as older adults and people with chronic degenerative diseases. Above all, not to go out on the streets unless it is an essential activity.
