Stimulus check: How to spend it wisely

YUMA, Ariz. ( KYMA, KECY) - Thousands across the country including residents in the Desert Southwest are waiting for the relief checks to drop into their bank accounts.

However, several are asking how they can either spend it wisely or save it for the future as there is economic uncertainty due to the pandemic.

“A family may get 24 hundred dollars, some households need that money to pay bills and catch up," said John Curtis, Executive Director with the Yuma County Chamber of Commerce.

Over three- thousand people have been forced to file for unemployment in the county. Curtis said that this relief check is a life line to several families. “We may lose a few businesses, I just hope it’s a really small number," said Curtis.
