Candidates vying for Imperial County Supervisor seat
EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY)-It’s crunch time for candidates running for office.
The ballot is set to take place on March 3 for the Imperial County Board of Supervisors District 2.
The district two-seat is one that holds a lot of power and the candidate that wins will be making some of the most important decisions for the Imperial Valley.
We spoke to both candidates running for district two and they tell us what they plan to bring to the table if they win the election.
“Here in the valley we continue to have the highest unemployment rate," says Claudia Camarena. Camarena is a retired county employee hoping to win a seat on the board of supervisors.
“The problem we have with the new river is the waste that is allowed to come in from Mexico," said incumbent Luis Plancarte. Plancarte is hoping to keep his seat and continue serving on the board.
We'll have more on the two candidates on our newscast.
