A bike track like no other
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A local middle school gears up for a special community event where you can learn different biking skills and experience their special mountain bike track.
Centennial Middle School mountain bike club practices an hour and a half every day on the track that took their coach three years to build.
Karl, the mountain bike coach, spent an entire year digging part of the track with his own two hands.
He was donated an excavator which sped up the process and two years later the track was completed.
The bike track runs all around the school's field area and has many hurdles to get over. It's meant for students of all skill levels.
Not many people know of the bike tracks existence, which is why the club is hosting their Mountain Bike Rodeo on March 7th.
The community can come out, see the track, and participate in the many clinics that will be available.
Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the event ends at 1 p.m.
There will be an entrance fee of $10 a person, however, if you pay for two people, the entire family can join in on the fun.
There will also be food for purchase and demo bikes up to $8,000 in value to test ride.
Centennial Middle School is located at 2650 W. 20th Street 85364.
