ypd2

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY)- Students from Southwestern Christian School greeted the Yuma Police Department with treats, singing, and lots of laughter Thursday.

A mother of three, Kristin Boyko said the school participates in different projects throughout the community.

However, every year they do something special for law enforcement from delivering a small basket to their school officer Chris Offutt aka officer "O," to a big banner to show them their token of appreciation for local police.

Kristin said Officer "O" has known her children since her oldest was in kinder. The mother of three said she considers officer "O" like family.

"Thank you for everything you do, we see a lot of different things happen, thank you for keeping us safe," Boyko said.

This year the school decided 4th graders and above would have the chance to meet police officers and deliver treats.
