Emergency landing creates traffic trouble in Southern California
Pilot puts plane down on busy interstate
CARLSBAD, Calif. (KYMA, KSWT, KECY/NBC News) - A pilot made an emergency landing on a busy California highway Thursday night. The crash tied up traffic, but amazingly, no one got hurt.
It happened on the I-5 in Carlsbad.
The pilot says when his single-engine Cessna lost power, he had no choice but to land in the interstate's southbound lanes.
He not only managed to get the plane on the ground without hitting any cars, both he and his passenger walked away from the wreckage without any injuries.
