Brawley man arrested for elder abuse
Suspect leads police on foot-chase before capture
EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KSWT, KECY) - A Brawley man wanted for elder abuse is behind bars, but police say it took some teamwork to put him there.
28-year-old Bryan Alexander was wanted by Brawley police for elder abuse and parole violation. El Centro officers got word Alexander was in the 700 block of Park Avenue.
Once officers found his car, it didn't take them long to find their suspect. However, police say Alexander wasn't going quietly. They say he took off on foot, jumping fences, and hiding in people's yards.
Officers say it took teamwork and communication, but they eventually took Alexander into custody in the area of 9th and Park, nearly two blocks away from the original location.
Police say Alexander suffered a number of minor injuries during his escape attempt. Officers sent him to the hospital to have his wounds treated then took him to jail to face multiple charges including resisting an officer.
